PERSON APP

Is a Social Network with additional applications in Emergency Situations.

How it Works

User Networks

A user chooses a network with a given name. This can be a well-known name on the system a "public network" and relate to a location or event or other topic. A user can likewise choose a name that only their group knows and have their own private network.

Networks unite users with common interests.

All networks you join see your posts, GPS position (if you have made it available), and public cell number if you have set it. This allows people with common interests to see each other's posts, while screening out all other posts not relevant to their interests.

A user is allowed up to 3 networks.

Example of Network and Site Usage

Example of site usage within a network: The site comes with the example of the event of Tropical Storm Sara which was a tropical storm that passed through Honduras and Belize in November 2024. The storm had a heavy impact on many areas which can be read about in the link above.

The example is a simulation of people dealing with the storm and using various site features.
To see the application of the site for this example, join the network tropicalstormsara to your networks.

Compatibility with Emergency Situations

The site is designed with the intention of being used during emergencies. These could include Tropical Storms, Hurricanes, and other situations.

The site allows People Needing Assistance, People Willing to Provide Assistance, Emergency Services and Hospitals all to interact in one place, under one network.

A Tropical Storm / Hurricane can also appear as a site user, (managed by admin staff) having its GPS position and information available to all as each day passes. This information when provided, is currently obtained from the National Hurricane Center and Central Pacific Hurricane Center Website which gives updates on position and information on the tropical storm / hurricane.

Profile Posts

A user of the site can make one profile post (their current situation).

Profile posts can have colours associated with them to easily mark intuitive meanings.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Green = Ok, a typical post, no assistance required.
  • No Color = Ok, a typical post, no assistance required.
  • Red = Person requires assistance
  • Turqoise = Person is providing assistance
  • Pink = Hospitals may use this, or some other uses.
  • Blue = Tropical Storm / Hurricane, other users could use it for any purpose.
  • Orange = warning, undefined.

Profile Posts can come with additional information to mark offical posts from legitimate organizations or entities, such as EMERGENCY SERVICES or HOSPITAL.

These entities can verify themselves by various means and receive a special designation to separate themselves from normal users. If you would like special designation and are a legitimate organization (even if not listed as one of the types above), please contact us.
